Villarreal vs Sevilla (3 January 2027, La Liga): match facts, H2H and recent form

Villarreal host a struggling Sevilla side in what promises to be a decisive clash in the top‑flight. The hosts sit 18th with just two points from four games, having failed to win while conceding eight goals, whereas Sevilla sit comfortably in fifth place, holding ten points after three victories and a draw and boasting a positive goal difference of +2. The gap in form is stark, and Villarreal will need to turn around a season that has already seen them lose three of four matches to keep their survival hopes alive. For Sevilla, a win would cement their push for a European spot and widen the gap on the teams chasing the top four. The head‑to‑head record this season adds extra intrigue, as both sides will be eager to prove their recent league positions right.
