Motherwell – SC Freiburg

Motherwell’s home spell in the league continued to unravel as SC Freiburg stormed to a 3‑1 victory, widening the gap at the summit. The Scottish side, sitting 21st with ten points from six games (three wins, one draw, two defeats) and a modest +2 goal difference, could not contain Freiburg’s relentless attack that has already secured them nine points from three wins and a staggering +9 goal margin. The German champions, now first with nine points and a 10‑1 tally, turned the tables on the previous head‑to‑head meetings, where Freiburg had already taken both earlier encounters this season. The result leaves Motherwell entrenched in the relegation zone while Freiburg solidifies their title charge.
