Sligo Rovers – Galway United

The hosts Sligo Rovers were humbled at the Showgrounds as Galway United ran away with a 4‑1 victory, widening the gap between the two sides in the league table. The defeat leaves Sligo rooted to 10th place with just 23 points from 30 matches, a record of five wins, eight draws and 17 losses and a dismal -27 goal difference. Galway, now seventh, moved up to 34 points, having secured eight wins, ten draws and 11 defeats while improving their goal balance to –7.
