Nancy vs Montpellier (14 August 2026, Ligue 2): match facts, H2H and recent form

Nancy’s home defeat to Montpellier by a solitary goal left the Ligue 2 side stranded on ten points, still hovering in 10th place after two wins, one draw and three losses, with a balanced four‑four goal record. The visitors moved up to third in the table, their 11 points coming from three victories, two draws and a single loss, and they improved their goal difference to +1 after edging the match 1‑0. The result widened the gap between the two clubs in the head‑to‑head tally this season, giving Montpellier the sole win after Nancy’s earlier triumph. Both teams now have a handful of games left to solidify their positions, but the three‑point swing certainly favours Montpellier’s push for promotion.
