Sparta Rotterdam vs NEC Nijmegen (5 December 2026, Eredivisie): match facts, H2H and recent form

Sparta Rotterdam host NEC Nijmegen in what promises to be a tightly contested Eredivisie clash, with the hosts sitting 12th on 5 points after one win, two draws and three defeats, scoring ten and conceding thirteen. NEC sit just two places higher in 10th place, having amassed seven points from two victories, a draw and three losses, while their goal difference is marginally better at –1 (11‑12). Both sides will be eager to close the gap to the safety zone, and a positive result could see Sparta climb out of the relegation‑threatened zone while NEC push into the top half. The match offers a chance for the Rotterdam side to tighten up a leaky defence, whereas Nijmegen will look to capitalize on their slightly sharper attack to edge the game.
